Voice Actor Robert Axelrod Has Passed Away

About a week after another voice actor passed away, the anime industry has lost another veteran as Robert Axelrod (born May 29, 1949 in New York City) is no longer with us, dying on September 8th.

Robert Axelrod is most well known as the voice of Lord Zedd and Finster in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers through Power Rangers in Space, as well as Wizardmon, Armadillomon, and his Digivolutions in the first two seasons of Digimon: Digital Monsters. He was also Prince George in The Neighbors TV series, Jennings in The Blob, Emperor Darius in Gaiking, Movor in Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Microchip in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Rico in Robotech, Professor Hunter in Lupin III Part 2, Slug in Fight or Die, and Terry Bruge-Hiplo in Check it Out! with Steve Brule. His final performance was as Mr. Rodgers in the movie Induced Effect.

Before becoming a voice actor, Robert was a musician, specializing in electric bass and performing in a variety of folk, rock, and soul bands.

Robert Axelrod passed away at the age of 70.
